Insurance Valuations
This is the typical type of valuation sought, and is compiled on the basis of what a similar item would cost in the unfortunate event of loss, damage or theft. Values generally represent average prices in the relevant retail or second hand market. The valuation will be detailed enough for a replacement to be obtained in the event of a claim being submitted to your insurer. Provenance and related research can be included where relevant.
s
Probate Valuations
A valuation for probate purposes may be required upon the death of the owner of jewellery, gold and other valuables for legal representatives that are handling the estate. The values stated are often much lower and less detail is given than those for an insurance valuation as figures are based upon an open market assessment of their worth.
s
Family Division/Divorce Valuations
This type of valuation can be required to assist in dividing jewellery and other assets between family members or to help couples dealing with the stressful realities of a marriage or relationship breakdowns. We can help by undertaking a valuation of your jewellery that can be used for consideration by families, legal representatives or the courts.
s
Private Sale Valuations

This type of valuation applies when you want to sell an item of value to another individual privately and need to know what price to ask for it. A willing buyer and willing seller situation requires the valuer to take into account many factors affecting value when providing a final figure that is reasonable to both parties.
s
Other Valuations
We may also be able to help you with valuations for Capital Gains Tax purposes or for Liquidation/Disposal if you wish to sell the goods; indeed if you require advice for a special reason, please feel free to discuss your requirements with us.

Trade Valuation Services
We work with retail jewellers and auction houses to provide valuations and/or valuations days for their customers. On site consultations and assessments of jewellery are followed up by researching, pricing and producing valuation documents. Please feel free to contact us regarding possible working partnerships or other trade related services you may require.
s
Post Loss Reports

You may have been unlucky enough to suffer a burglary, and in this case if your old valuation is not up to date or was not carried out by an independent professional valuer, your insurer may ask you to obtain an independent assessment of the articles before accepting any claim. We will be able to provide a totally independent Post Loss Report based on your descriptions and available data.
s
Gemmological Assessments
With a qualified gemmologist and comprehensive gem testing facilities on site, both loose and mounted gemstones diamonds can be identified and appraised. As part of the appraisal it may be necessary to consult an internationally recognised gemmological laboratory, this would be discussed following an initial assessment of your items.
